2026 - Breakthrough

If I had to describe the first few months of 2026 at Equilibrio in one word, it would be breakthrough.

For us, breakthrough means more than growth. It means recognizing what we’re capable of, building on our strengths, confronting our weaknesses, and being willing to step outside our comfort zone so we can make a greater impact on the patients, families, healthcare partners, and communities we serve.

And this year, we’re doing exactly that.

Nine Years of Growth—and a New Home

Over the past nine years, Equilibrio Home Health has grown from an idea about doing home health differently into a team of more than 50 professionals working together to provide skilled, patient- and family-centered care.

This February, we celebrated another milestone: the opening of Equilibrio’s own corporate office.

Our ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together team members, community partners, local businesses, friends, and supporters who have been part of our journey. Looking around that room was a pretty incredible reminder that Equilibrio has never been about one or two people. Everything we’ve accomplished has been a collective effort.

Our nurses, therapists, home health professionals, administrative team, community partners, and supporters all play a role in helping us create a better home health experience for patients and families throughout Hampton Roads.

My wife, Kim, our CEO, and I are incredibly grateful for the team that has helped us reach this point—and even more excited about where we’re going next.

Growing Our Impact in Hampton Roads

As Equilibrio grows, our goal isn’t simply to become bigger. We want to become better.

That means continuing to strengthen our skilled home health services, working closely with physicians and healthcare partners, investing in our team, and finding new ways to help patients remain safer, healthier, and more independent at home.

We’re also incredibly thankful for the Hampton Roads business community that continues to support our growth. Our local Chamber, members of the Mayor’s Commission, fellow business leaders, community partners, and friends have helped make milestones like this possible.

A special thank-you goes to my C12 group, an incredible group of business leaders who share our belief that businesses can—and should—be a force for good in the communities they serve.

And, of course, thank you to Jen with Taste – Groovin’ Gourmet for once again making one of our celebrations look and taste amazing!

What’s Next for Equilibrio Home Health?

Moving into our new corporate office is exciting, but what we’re building outside those walls is even more important.

In 2026, Equilibrio is continuing to explore new technology, durable medical equipment, and in-home monitoring solutions designed to improve patient safety and support better outcomes in the home.

We’re also developing new specialty programs, including our Balanced Parkinson’s Program, along with fall-monitoring initiatives designed to help address one of the biggest safety concerns facing patients who want to remain independent at home.

And that’s just the beginning.

As healthcare continues to evolve, we believe skilled home health has an increasingly important role to play—not just after a hospitalization, but in helping patients manage complex conditions, recover safely, prevent avoidable setbacks, and maintain their quality of life at home.

The Best Is Yet to Come

Nine years have taught us a lot. We’ve had successes, we’ve had challenges, and we’ve learned that progress matters more than perfection.

What hasn’t changed is why we do this.

We want Equilibrio Home Health to be a Force for Good—for our patients, their families, our healthcare partners, our team, and the communities we serve throughout Hampton Roads.
